乘坐交通工具通常用 by + 交通工具；步行固定说 on foot。
例：I go to school by bus. I walk to school on foot.
How long 与 takes
How long does it take? 询问所需时间，回答用 It takes + 时间。
例：It takes twenty minutes.

by 后直接接交通工具，不能加 a/an；步行使用固定短语 on foot。
例：I come by bus. I walk to school on foot.
How long does it take?
询问花费多长时间，回答用 It takes + 时间。does 后的 take 用原形。
例：How long does it take? It takes half an hour.
时间介词 at
具体时刻前用 at；quarter to 表示差几刻钟到某时。
例：I leave home at 7:30. I arrive at a quarter to eight.
